Dockmate System: Features and Technical Details

The Dockmate® system can control up to 7 functions

  • Horn - Fog horn
  • Windlass or winch – 1 or 2 anchors
  • Port engine
  • Starboard engine
  • Bow thruster
  • Stern thruster
  • DPS

The Dockmate® system features redundant safety technologies built into both hardware and software. The horn function is included in every Dockmate® receiver.

Exclusive Dockmate® Features

At Dockmate, we don’t just follow market standards: we evolve them.

This is why advanced features like SoftDocking and Throttle+ are now integrated as standard on SINGLE, TWIN, and TWIST models, at no extra cost.

softdocking

SoftDocking or Smooth Docking

Every boater knows: during a docking maneuver, the reaction time between the control action and the boat's actual movement can complicate things, especially in a confined space. With patented SoftDocking technology, a simple pulse on the joystick or button automatically triggers a pre-programmed and adjustable micro-propulsion. The propeller is engaged for a fraction of a second, always in a controlled and repeatable manner. Result: you "measure" your engines with precision, without jolts or surprises, for smoother, more predictable, and significantly more serene approaches.

throttle

Throttle+

The Throttle+ function provides access to an additional, predefined, and perfectly calibrated level of acceleration. Each Dockmate thus features two levels of engine control in forward and reverse: – an idle speed for fine maneuvers – a programmed acceleration for more dynamic corrections With Throttle+, you instantly activate this extra power with the simple press of a button or the joystick. Ideal for countering a crosswind or current, or quickly adjusting your position without leaving your vantage point.

Dockmate® System

Dockmate® is suitable for all boats equipped with electronic engine controls, regardless of their size or category. Motorboat, yacht, RIB, or flybridge boat: as long as the controls are electronic, installation is possible.

Dockmate remotes are completely waterproof, buoyant, and compact — barely larger than a smartphone. Their interface is intentionally clear and intuitive for immediate handling, even during the most technical maneuvers.

In its basic configuration, the remote transmits a secure digital signal to the receiver to control the engines and the horn. The system then evolves modularly to integrate control of the bow thruster, stern thruster, and one or two windlasses.

Operation is simple, precise, and reliable from any point on the boat. In the event of signal loss or if the remote falls into the water, the controls instantly return to neutral. Furthermore, the remote automatically powers off after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Technology designed to offer freedom of movement, maximum safety, and total control during every maneuver.

docklink

DockLink™

Dockmate® relies on its proprietary DockLink™ communication protocol, specifically developed to ensure reliable and secure transmission between the remote and the boat. DockLink™ is based on bidirectional FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) technology with GFSK modulation, operating on the 868 MHz or 433 MHz bands depending on local regulations. In practice, the system constantly communicates on multiple frequencies and automatically changes channels several times per second. Each installation uses a unique set of channels within a wide available range (64 channels at 868 MHz and 72 channels at 433 MHz). This continuous variation makes interference virtually non-existent and ensures optimal connection stability. The result: fast, secure, and reliable communication, with a range of up to 50 meters. Technology designed so that your control remains constant, even in dense harbor environments.
