Why are fixed joysticks outdated?
A fixed joystick requires you to remain at a specific station, usually at the helm or in the immediate vicinity of the engine controls. This position limits your field of view and your ability to properly judge distances, obstacles, or the boat’s response. In many cases, these joysticks are installed just a few centimetres from the main controls. They therefore add comfort in use, but do not truly change your position or your perception during manoeuvres. You remain dependent on a fixed point, with no real gain in mobility.
