Dockmate® is the most reliable and precise wireless remote docking system for your boat, designed by boaters for boaters.
Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.
DOCKMATE: As boaters with over 40 years of experience, we sincerely believe in the simplicity of things, and particularly in the simplicity of operation and control. We were looking for the best wireless remote control system, and when we couldn’t find it, we decided to build it ourselves. That’s why we kept our remote control layout simple and intuitive.
Our goal is to revolutionize the way we dock and empower captains to explore the world by freeing them from the stress of docking.
EE: What are the company’s main areas of activity?
DOCKMATE: We focus on the development and manufacture of a unique range of wireless remote controls to facilitate docking, making our products the best wireless remote control systems available for yachts and boats. We are committed to continuously improving our products and expanding our offerings to meet the evolving needs of boat owners and operators.
EE: What’s new regarding new products?
DOCKMATE: Last year, Dockmate announced an absolute revolution in easy, stress-free docking with its patented SoftDocking feature.
Regardless of boat size or type, power, or number of engines, any boater understands that docking is made more complex by the delay between throttle activation and when the boat actually begins to move. This is one of the biggest differences between driving a car and driving a boat, so much so that beginner and even advanced boating safety courses have entire sections dedicated to safe docking techniques to help boaters understand and feel comfortable. Now, Dockmate has solved this problem for good. Thanks to its newly patented technology, the Dockmate remote docking system now has the ability to provide a measured and fully customizable engine response. This consistent intermediate throttle response eliminates the ‘kick’ that boaters dread during close-quarters maneuvering.

Dockmate also announced the addition of a powerful new free feature for all analog and CAN bus Dockmate remote controls: Throttle+.
With the aim of giving users the most flexibility and control to operate their vessels in almost any situation or condition, Throttle+ offers predetermined additional acceleration on every Dockmate SINGLE, TWIN, and TWIST remote control. Building on the recent release of Dockmate’s patented SoftDocking feature, every Dockmate can now have three levels of engine control.
On SINGLE and TWIN models, a single press of the forward or reverse button provides a pre-programmed gentle propeller rotation, called SoftDocking, for close-quarters maneuvering; a full press of the forward or reverse buttons activates idle power; and pressing the ‘SEL’ button while pressing forward or reverse gives you a pre-programmed increase in additional throttle called Throttle+. This predetermined amount of throttle can be calibrated per direction to suit the precise needs of each customer and the type of vessel they own.
On a TWIST (joystick) remote, there is no need to press the SEL button to use Throttle+. Instead, Dockmate utilizes the proportional nature of the TWIST joystick, allowing users to nudge the joystick for SoftDocking, a full push of the joystick in any forward, reverse, or diagonal direction for idle, or pushing the joystick further past the Throttle+ threshold to engage the additional thrust.
SoftDocking and Throttle+ are pre-loaded on all new Dockmate controls and are configured during installation.
EE: What are the product ranges?
DOCKMATE: Dockmate offers a comprehensive range of wireless remote control systems. The Dockmate® RED is our basic model. It supports on/off control of engines and thrusters. It is available for single and twin-engine boats, but its compatibility is limited to boats equipped with simple analog electronic controls for engines and thrusters.
The Dockmate TWIN & SINGLE (for twin-engine and single-engine boats respectively) are the next step up. They provide on/off control of engines and thrusters. Their Throttle+ function allows the captain to add a predetermined amount of throttle to the engines when needed, and their SoftDocking function makes it easier to control a motor yacht equipped with large engines.
The Dockmate TWIST – our flagship model – works for all boats and any type of propulsion (including joystick systems that rotate pods or outboards). It offers all the same features as the TWIN and SINGLE and adds a proportional joystick, which allows you to proportionally control the engines and support proportional thrusters. TWIN, SINGLE, and TWIST are compatible with virtually all electronic, analog, or CAN bus control systems.

The VECTOR is a variant of the TWIST specifically designed for boats equipped with a maximum of 1 thruster and joystick systems like the Volvo Penta joystick and Mercury Joystick Piloting 2, which rotate pods or outboards.
All Dockmate models are also capable of controlling the horn and up to 2 windlasses (only 1 windlass for the Dockmate® RED).
And all Dockmate systems use DockLink™, our best-in-class proprietary wireless communication protocol.
Whether it’s a small pleasure boat or a large yacht, Dockmate has the right solution to meet our customers’ specific requirements. Each system is customizable and can be adapted to the specific requirements of different boats, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
